About Us
Xcessories Squared was formed to design accessories that complement the perforated square tube system.

The first products were post-to-anchored attachment hardware and sign-to-post hardware, anchor driving accessories for post drivers and jackhammers, and a slip base system for square posts to meet Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) safety criteria for crashworthiness.
We manufacture to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and FHWA requirements, and we are involved in product design and development in conjunction with transportation departments' needs and requests. Xcessories Squared fabricates many sign structures for states per their standards, so we can work directly with transportation departments for total documentation and specification support.
In addition, we've been involved with Task Force 13 for 25+ years and with AKD Technical Committee on Roadside Safety. We have also run numerous tests in accordance with MASH-16 criteria.
When you work with Xcessories Squared, you'll see that solving problems with innovative designs is one of our most important strengths. From slip bases to breakaway bases, sign posts to sign bracing, and all clamps, brackets, and related hardware, your total sign support product line starts here.
Xcessories Squared products are proudly made, melted, and manufactured in the USA!

Family Business
Larry Leahy started Xcessories Squared in 1988 and has been in the traffic/sign support industry since 1977. In 1982, he conducted a patent search for a telescoping perforated square steel tube (PSST) used for sign posts and anchor systems. Although there was a manufacturing patent, there was no design patent, so Larry approached a manufacturer in the industry to see if they would make the product without infringing on the existing patent. The manufacturer made the new product, and around 1986, Larry started selling the telescoping PSST.
Matt Leahy has been working at Xcessories Squared since June 1995. He joined the family business because he wanted to work with his father, Larry, and saw great potential in the foundation his dad built. Starting in the warehouse/shipping department, Matt moved up the ladder into sales and research and development before being named vice president of operations in 2005. He was named president of Xcessories Squared in 2012.
